Campbell, ViolinConcert Master Elaine Campbell returns for her eleventh season as Concertmaster with the Charlotte Philharmonic Orchestra. With degrees from Wichita State University and the University of Illinois, her music studies included work with James Caesar and Paul Rolland. Performing with orchestras throughout the Midwest and the Southeast, Elaine has served as concertmaster under the direction of such notables as Howard Hanson, Samuel Adler, James Robertson, Vincent Persichetti and Gunther Schuller. After earning a Masters of Business Administration degree, she owns a music-booking agency, Ensembles Live provides orchestras and bands for Greensboro Coliseum road events, Greensboro Oratorio and other large area organizations. Bill, her husband, is a research scientist working in the pharmaceutical industry. Their older daughter, Meredith, is completing her Psychology doctoral degree with an internship at Emory University in Atlanta. Adrienne, their younger daughter, is working full time and completing her undergraduate degree in Greensboro. |
